ABORNE at the ASA 2011 conference in Washington

ABORNISTAS will meet at the conference hotel lobby at 7:30pm on Friday night, Nov. 18 to go out for dinner and informal ABORNE discussion. Bill Miles and Paul Nugent will lead the way!
Cfp: Border Towns in Africa

ABORNE members Karen Büscher (Ghent) and Martin Doevenspeck (Bayreuth) will be the guest editors for a special issue of the peer-reviewed journal Africa Spectrum on "Border Towns in Africa”. The deadline for submissions is 15 January 2012 and further details can be found in the attached document.

The Sixth ABORNE Annual Conference will take place in Edinburgh, Scotland, 6th to 9th of June 2012.

The conference theme will be ‘African Borderlands - Regional Integration from Above and Below . The ABORNE meeting will be organised as a stream of panels nested within the CAS@50 anniversary conference of Edinburgh s Centre of African Studies. The call for panel and paper proposals (deadline 30th September 2011) is in the bottom.
